Phase – I (2002 – 2005)

  • 118 Schools implementing CRI’s Interactive Teaching and Learning Methodologies.
  • 1,271 Heads, Deputy Heads, Teachers & Supervisors trained in Interactive Teaching and Learning Skills through 17 initial and follow up trainings.
  • 766 Classrooms KG-IV equipped with active learning material.
  • Technical assistance to teachers of all partner classrooms on regular basis.
  • 25,900 Students benefited from Child-Centered Practices.
  • 97 Coordinators trained in Family Involvement strategies.
  • 291 teachers and heads trained in adult literacy skills through 7 family literacy trainings.
  • 3,658 Parents learned basic literacy and math skills in 78 literacy centers.
  • 43 Mentors from 4 provinces trained in Child-Centered Practices.
  • 95 Faculty Members trained in Child-Centered Basic Education skills in 2 trainings. Three ready to teach courses on interactive teaching and learning practices have been introduced.
  • CRI-Pakistan’s master teachers trained 500 public school teachers in Oman.
  • 490 newly appointed English teachers of FDE trained in child centered practices by CRI’s master teacher trainers.
  • Conducted policy seminars on Early Childhood Education in collaboration with UNESCO and Punjab Education Department.
  • Master teacher trainers used as resource person for training of special education teachers.
  • MTTs used as resource persons in trainings for children with disabilities.
  • CRI’s trained public school teachers now used as master trainers by government.
  • CRI joined hands with Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) to train community teachers of its partner organizations in all the four provinces.
  • Training of teachers in earthquake devastated areas. Helping traumatized children to learn through interactive teaching and learning methodologies.

Phase – II (2006 – 2009)

  • Implementation in entire school district of Islamabad.
  • The Interactive Teaching and Learning Methodologies will be implemented in 399 public schools (ICT, Karachi and Rawalpindi districts).
  • 3,198  Heads, Deputy Heads, Teachers & Supervisors will be trained in Interactive Teaching and Learning Skills through 100 initial and follow up trainings.
  • 3,033 new classrooms KG to Grade VIII will be equipped with active learning material.
  • 3,799 classrooms will be provided with consumable stationery items.
  • Approximately 130,000 families and children—the direct beneficiaries of improved teaching and learning—will have participated for the first time in a meaningful way in their children’s education.
  • A team of 65 mentors nominated by FDE will be trained to monitor the quality of the program.
  • Technical assistance to teachers of all partner classrooms on regular basis.
  • 330 heads and teachers of 110 schools will be trained as family literacy trainers through 8 trainings.
  • Approximately 5,000 parents will learn basic literacy and math skills.
  • 2 faculty trainings for 95 faculty members of 40 public universities and teacher training institute will be organized in which specialized courses on interactive teaching and learning will be introduced.
  • CRI’s ready to teach specialized courses incorporated as reference material in course outline in B.Ed and M.Ed curriculum.
  • The examination and assessment systems will be improved in Islamabad Capital Territory in consultation with FDE, according to the new interactive methodology being introduced. 
  • Selected Teachers Resource Centers of FDE will be equipped with training facilities.
  • CRI’s master teacher trainers invited as resources person by the public universities for training of B.Ed and M.Ed students.
  • CRI to undertake trainings of approximately 150 community school teachers in 30 schools in three quake afftected districts of Azad Jammu & Kashmir (Bagh, Rawalakot and Muzaffarabad).
